Song and MV Review[]

According to Krave Reviews, "The cube trainee, now newly debuted solo artist, ex-produce101 and unpretty rap star contestant just made her highly anticipated debut after… forever?

The confusing electronic beat slowly and awkwardly introduces Soyeon’s quite childish rap. I was never a big fan of her, like ever. This was, in my opinion, her best produce 101 performance, despite the fact that she sounded breathless. She trained a lot after PD101 and she now sounds like she has better technique. But….

I don’t like the way she drags out the last word of her first bars because it makes her voice sound extra nasal, and her voice is already really nasal, something that is actually pretty common for a lot of rappers. Despite not liking her voice or the beat in the beginning for that matter, I actually quite enjoyed the pre-chorus. The lyrics sounded clearer and she didn’t try too hard to make her voice sound higher than it actually is. And the fact that she was dragging out the words in the pre-chorus added a nice effect as if she’s teasing us for the chorus. But I thought the chorus was really annoying. She went back to dragging out her words, making it almost impossible for me to understand what she was singing. For me, the best part of the song is the end with the dance break because my ears could finally rest.

As for the MV, I enjoyed the colorful scenery since winter is coming. It was pleasant to watch and for some reason, it made the song a bit more bearable. The dance at the end was good, but it’s not really my favorite style. I also liked her outfit and hair in the low pigtails, but not the pink one with the hat.

This review will probably make some people angry, but please remember that you can’t force everyone to like the same thing as you do. Peace out!"[1]
